Several South Florida high schools have earned top marks when it comes to rankings of Best High Schools in the National by U.S. News & World Report.
According to a media release, 15 Broward County Public Schools high schools are among the top 27% of all ranked high schools in the nation in the 2025/26 edition of U.S. News and World Report’s showcase on Best High Schools.
Topping the list for BCPS are Millennium 6-12 Collegiate Academy (ranked #4 in Florida and #56 in the nation) and Pompano Beach High School (ranked #21 in Florida and #200 in the nation).
Rounding out the top five ranked high schools across BCPS are William T. McFatter Technical High School, Cypress Bay High School, and Atlantic Technical High School.
According to the study, topping the list for Miami-Dade County Public Schools are Archimedean Upper Conservatory Charter School in Miami (ranked #3 in Florida and #49 in the nation), Jose Marti Mast 6-12 Academy (ranked #7 in Florida and #73 in the nation) and Marine Academy of Science and Technology (MAST@FIU) (ranked #8 in Florida and #74 in the nation).
U.S. News & World Report evaluated more than 24,000 public high schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Nearly 18,000 high schools were ranked based on six factors: college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, college curriculum breadth, underserved student performance and graduation rates.
