MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A landlord in Miami-Dade County was arrested Saturday after he shot and killed his tenant, authorities confirmed.

According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 9400 block of Southwest 17th Terrace shortly after 8 a.m.
Deputies arrived at the scene to find a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Authorities said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and transported the victim to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in critical condition. He later died at the hospital.
According to deputies, a dispute between a landlord and tenant became physical, at which time the landlord, identified as Adam Louis Anson, 37, pulled out a gun and shot the tenant, identified as 57-year-old Carlos Alberto Gonzalez.
Anson was initially detained for questioning, but was eventually arrested on charges of second-degree murder and burglary with assault or battery while armed.
According to his arrest report, Anson had walked over to the efficiency on the east side of his home, while armed with a semi-automatic pistol and knocked on the window in an attempt to enter the efficiency to adjust the thermostat that was located in the hallway.
Deputies said the victim opened the door, at which time Anson forced himself inside and began to punch the victim, unprovoked.
According to the report, Anson then dragged the victim outside to the backyard and shot him several times in the head.
Deputies said after the shooting, Anson proceeded to enter the efficiency once again, adjust the thermostat and then returned to his home and called 911.
According to the report, Anson told the 911 dispatcher that the victim had tried to hit him, at which time he pulled out his gun and shot the victim, claiming he was acting in self-defense.
Deputies confirmed that Anson’s gun was recovered at the scene.
As of Saturday evening, Anson was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where his bond had yet to be set.
