Woman hospitalized after being stabbed, possibly hit by car in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Detectives were investigating Wednesday how a woman was stabbed in Fort Lauderdale.

It happened along the 2900 block of Southwest 13th Street at approximately 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities said they suspected the woman was the victim of a stabbing, and that she had also possibly been struck by the suspect’s vehicle.

Stunned neighbors told Local 10 News it seemed to happen out of nowhere and that a nearby family rushed in to help the victim before she was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center.

Despite her extensive injuries, she is expected to survive.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.

This is a developing story.
