1-year-old boy in ‘critical condition’ after being pulled from Miami pool

MIAMI – A 1-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital Friday after being found unresponsive in a pool by a relative at a Miami home, City of Miami Fire Rescue officials confirmed.

The incident was reported at a home in the 6200 block of North Miami Avenue.

According to first responders, two Miami police officers were the first to arrive at the home and performed CPR on the boy until paramedics arrived.

Officials said the boy was then transported by ground to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in “critical condition.”

Miami police spokesman Freddie Cruz said detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and which adults were home at the time.

A Local 10 News crew was at the home where Miami police detectives were seen taking pictures and collecting evidence.

The MPD’s Victims Advocate Unit was requested to offer essential services and compassionate support to the family during this difficult time.

No other details were immediately released.
