Authorities have released 911 call recordings from the frantic moment an alleged hitman showed up at the Pinecrest home of developer Sergio Pino’s estranged wife.

The estranged wife of South Florida developer Sergio Pino wanted half of her husband’s fortune in their divorce and refused to settle for an offered $20 million, according to a criminal complaint for one of the nine people arrested in a murder-for-hire plot.

A total of nine people are facing charges related to a murder-for-hire plot the FBI says wealthy South Florida developer Sergio Pino orchestrated with the intent of having his wife killed.

Attorney Sam Rabin said the law enforcement response to the Coral Gables home of Sergio Pino, a prominent developer and philanthropist, was “unprecedented and unnecessary.”
