Seared Tuna with Strawberry Salsa

For the grilled fish:

tuna steaks, swordfish steaks or your favorite hearty fish

kosher salt, to taste

ground fennel seed, to taste

red crushed chilies, to taste

olive oil or non-stick cook spray, for cooking

Season the fish with kosher salt, ground fennel seed and red crushed chilies to taste. If using tuna, grill or sear to medium rare. If using another fish, cook to your desired doneness before serving. Serve the fish topped with the strawberry salsa.

For the Strawberry Salsa:

1 pint strawberries, stemmed, small diced

½ habanero chili, stemmed, seeded, minced

½ small red onion, small diced

3 tablespoons mint leaves, roughly chopped

3 tablespoons cilantro leaves and tender stems, roughly chopped

juice and zest of 1 lemon

a drizzle of honey

¼ cup Olive oil

kosher salt, to taste

Combine all ingredients and stir gently to mix. Taste for seasoning and sweetness, adjust if needed.
