MIAMI — Alejandra Brito was behind bars on Friday after an alleged crime spree in Miami-Dade County.
Brito, 25, had an eye for women who left their purses unattended, according to deputies.
One victim left her purse in an unlocked gym locker and the other in the car, according to deputies.
Both cases were on Tuesday. In a 2:30 p.m. case at Planet Fitness in Westchester, the victim reported finding Brito in her car.
“Sorry! I thought this was my vehicle,” Brito allegedly told the victim before getting out of the car and fleeing, according to the deputies’ report.
In a 7 p.m. case at Walgreens in Kendall, the victim reported Brito threw a glass perfume bottle at her when she found her trying to break into her parked Tesla.
Sweetwater police officers arrested Brito on Thursday afternoon after a traffic stop at Southwest Eighth Street and 107 Avenue, records show.
In the Westchester case, Brito faced charges of attempted grand theft, burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, and petit theft.
In the Kendall case, Brito faced charges of attempted burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, criminal mischief, and battery.
Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 to remain anonymous.
