MIAMI – Officials with Miami-Dade County Public Schools announced Monday that they will close all district schools and offices on Wednesday in anticipation of Hurricane Milton.
While South Florida wasn’t directly in the storm’s forecast track as of Wednesday, Milton is still expected to impact the area. Miami-Dade County was placed under a flood advisory.

Additionally, M-DCPS officials said that “school-related activities inclusive of adult education” would be suspended as of 6 p.m. Tuesday.
“After-school care will remain open, but parents are encouraged to pick up their children as early as possible,” the district said in a news release.
Officials said their decision was made “in collaboration with Miami-Dade County’s Department of Emergency Management and the National Weather Service.”
