MIAMI – President Joe Biden spent time in South Florida on Tuesday as part of his re-election campaign.
The White House said his plan was to take part in two campaign receptions in the Palm Beach and Miami areas.
Biden touched down in West Palm Beach early Tuesday afternoon for an event in Jupiter with plans to then travel south, where he hosted a fundraiser in the Miami area early Tuesday evening.
After touching down in Miami, Biden was met by Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava before he departed for the fundraising event.
As he arrived in South Florida, it was what Biden said earlier in the day before departing Washington D.C. that was making headlines.
Biden confirmed he’d made a decision on how he’ll respond to the deadly drone strike attack in Jordan that killed three U.S. service members over the weekend.
More than 40 others were hurt after what the president called an Iran-backed militant drone strike.
Analysts believe how Biden responds could either prevent or cause the U.S. to go to war in the Middle East.
That delicate decision was likely on his mind as he greeted first responders in West Palm Beach and then departed on the presidential plane to Miami.
Protesters waited for Biden near the Pinecrest home hosting the fundraising event. They launched harsh words, held signs and even brought props to symbolize the casualties of the Israel-Hamas war, a fight most of the protesters blamed on Biden.
“Biden has been aiding and abetting the Israeli government with arms, with money and all this has done is led to more and more death and destruction,” said Ken Barnes with Jewish Voice For Peace.
