Deputies release new video in deadly, unsolved Tamarac hit-and-run

TAMARAC, Fla. ā€“ Broward County deputies released new surveillance video and details Wednesday as they continued to investigate a fatal hit-and-run crash near the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.

According to the Broward Sheriffā€™s Office, the crash happened just before 10:55 p.m. on Oct. 1 at the intersection of Northwest 31st Avenue and West Commercial Boulevard in Tamarac.

Officials said the driver hit a man ā€œcrossing southbound near the crosswalkā€ and took off. Authorities didnā€™t release the name of the victim, citing Marsyā€™s Law.

The new video shows the suspected vehicle, believed to be a ā€œsilver sedan or small SUV,ā€ from the vantage point of a nearby gas station.

Authorities also released an image of car parts recovered from the scene.

ā€œThe parts make up the passenger side headlight assembly, and detectives believe the vehicle will have damage to the front passenger side,ā€ BSO spokesperson Carey Codd said in a news release
