South Florida closings, cancellations, reopenings

Below is a list of closings and cancellations as a result of Hurricane Irma:

Airports and Seaports

Miami International Airport reopened Tuesday.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport reopened Tuesday. 

Key West International Airport remains closed until further notice.

Palm Beach International Airport remains open but is advising travelers to check with their airlines for the status of their flights.

PortMiami closed Friday at 8 p.m.

Port Everglades closed Friday at 8 p.m.

Cruises

Miami-based Carnival Cruise Line has altered the itinerary of certain cruises because of the threat of Hurricane Irma. 

Royal Caribbean International was forced to change the route of Sunday's Allure of the Seas cruise.

Norwegian Cruise Line changed the itineraries on the Norwegian Escape and Norwegian Sky.

Colleges

All state universities and colleges have been ordered closed by order of Gov. Rick Scott.

The University of Miami has canceled classes Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Florida Memorial University will be closed through Friday.

St. Thomas University will remain closed through Tuesday.

Nova Southeastern University will remain closed until further notice. 

Barry University will close Wednesday at 4 p.m. until further notice.

Lynn University will remain closed until further notice.

American Medical Academy has canceled all classes as of 4 p.m. Wednesday through the weekend. 

Florida Technical College Cutler Bay campus is closed Thursday through Sunday. 

Florida Career College, Pembroke Pines Campus is closed Friday through Sunday. Students can check college's Facebook page for updates on when campus will reopen. 

All Keiser University campuses in Florida will be closed through Tuesday.  

Monroe County Schools

All Monroe County public schools are closed through Friday, Sept. 15. 

Basilica School of St. Mary Star of the Seas in Key West will be closed Wednesday through Monday.

Miami-Dade County Schools

All Miami-Dade County Public Schools are closed until further notice.

All Catholic schools will remain closed through Tuesday.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School will be closed Thursday, Friday and Monday.

The Miami Springs Montessori School will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Alexander Montessori Schools will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Gulliver Schools will be closed through at least Wednesday.

Ransom Everglades School will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The Roig Academy will be closed until further notice. 

The ACT schedule for Saturday at American Senior High School in Hialeah has been canceled.

Scheck Hillel Community School will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Westminster Christian School in Palmetto Bay will be closed Thursday and Friday. ACT exam scheduled for Saturday at the school is also canceled. 

Broward County Schools

All Broward County Public Schools are closed until further notice.

All Catholic schools will remain closed through Tuesday.

American Heritage School will be closed Thursday and Friday, including all after-school and evening activities.

The Paladin Academy in Pembroke Pines has canceled classes Thursday and Friday.

The Sagemont School in Weston has canceled classes Thursday and Friday.

Palm Beach County Schools

All Palm Beach County public schools are closed through Monday.

Hospitals & Doctor's Offices 

Mercy Hospital has closed the emergency room to new patients.

Nicklaus Children's Palm Beach Gardens, Palmetto Bay, Midtown and main campus urgent care centers are closed Friday.

All other Nicklaus Children's urgent care centers (Doral, Miami Lakes, Miramar, West Bird and West Kendall) will be open Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All centers will be closed on Saturday and Sunday during the storm.

Rehabilitation services at all Nicklaus Children's Outpatient Centers are discontinued through Monday.

Kendall Endoscopy Center will be closed until Tuesday.

Community Health of South Florida will be closed noon Friday until further notice. 

UHealth Orientation Day 2 on Tuesday is canceled

UMH/UMHC/ABLEH Nursing Orientation scheduled for Wednesday - Friday has been canceled.

Baptist Hospital, Doctors Hospital, Homestead Hospital, South Miami Hospital and West Kendall Baptist Hospital are open Friday.

All Baptist Urgent Care Centers and Diagnostic Imaging Centers are closed.

Baptist elective surgeries/outpatient procedures will be cancelled through Monday.

Miami Cancer Institute is now closed.

Baptist Health Primary Care locations and all specialty clinics are closed through Monday. 

Holy Cross Hospital's community hotline for updates during the storm is 954-267-7600. Its associate/employee hotline is 954-351-7862.

Courts

All Miami-Dade County courts and clerk of courts offices will be closed through Thursday.

Broward County courthouses will be closed at 5 p.m. Wednesday and will remain closed at least through Monday.

Palm Beach County courthouses will be closed Thursday through at least Monday.

Transportation

Tri-Rail service will be suspended Friday until further notice.

Amtrak has suspended service in Florida until further notice.

Sports

The Miami Dolphins home game versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will not be played at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday. The team confirmed Wednesday that the game will be played during a mutual bye week with the Bucs at Hard Rock Stadium on Nov. 19. 

The Florida International University home football game against Alcorn State won't be played this Saturday at 7 p.m. It has been moved to Friday night in Birmingham, Alabama.

Barry University has canceled all university-sponsored athletic events scheduled from Wednesday through Sunday. The women's golf UIndy Fall Invitational has also been canceled next Monday and Tuesday. 

Auto Show

The Miami International Auto Show scheduled to open Sept. 9 at the Miami Beach Convention Center has been postponed. No new opening date has been announced.

Propane

Sungas Services has propane available at its facility at 2950 NW 24th St. in Miami from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Homestead-Miami International Speedway

The Fast Lane Friday event scheduled for Sept. 8 has been canceled.

Arts

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County's ArtsLaunch2017 event, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled. 

Performances for "It Happened One Night" at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts have been canceled for Friday and Saturday. Refunds will be processed automatically to the original purchaser's credit card. 

Parks

Biscayne National Park has closed the visitor center, island visitor facilities and administrative facilities.

Zoo Miami

Zoo Miami will be closed beginning Thursday until further notice as final preparations are made ahead of Hurricane Irma. No animals will be evacuated from the zoo and most will remain in their typical enclosures. Some animals, however, such as birds and small mammals, will be moved to small mobile crates and then placed into buildings to ride out the storm. 

Miami Seaquarium

Miami Seaquarium has announced that the park will be closed to the public beginning on Thursday, September 7 and will remain closed until further notice

Miami

The city will not have any garbage or recycling pickup Monday.

Hollywood

The city will postpone the commission workshop slated for Wednesday on the topic of street renaming. It will be rescheduled. 

Pembroke Pines

All parks in the city will be closed at 10 p.m. Tuesday. All games, practices and events have also be cancelled until further notice. 

Social Security

Social Security offices in Miami-Dade County, Broward County and Monroe County will be closed Wednesday.

Museums

The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science will suspend museum operations starting Thursday until further notice.

The Museum of Discovery and Science and AutoNation IMAX Theater will close for business Thursday.

The Wolfsonian-FIU museum will be closed through the weekend. Updates on re-openings will be posted on museum's social media accounts. 

Malls

The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale closed at 9 p.m. Wednesday and is expected to remain closed through at least Sunday. 

Dolphin Mall closed Friday until further notice.

Aventura Mall closed at 6 p.m. Thursday and will reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday. 

Sawgrass Mills closed at 6 p.m. Thursday and will reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday. 

Miami International Mall reopens at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Dadeland Mall reopens at 10 a.m. Tuesday. 

Casinos

The Mardi Gras Casino in Hallandale Beach will be closed beginning Thursday and will reopen once it is deemed safe to do so. 

Catholic Churches

The Archdiocese of Miami has canceled all regular scheduled masses and other parish activities at all Catholic churches on Saturday and Sunday.
