The setup today is very similar to yesterday. We started the day mostly dry, but rising temperatures to the upper 80s will fuel widespread thunderstorms this afternoon. The main threat is very heavy rain and the potential for some storms to back build over certain neighborhoods. This could produce 3-6″ of rain in a short time, leading to localized flooding. Parts of South Florida have seen 10-20″of rain so far this month, so the ground is saturated and can’t absorb additional water quickly.

The highest rain chance peaks today, and we will see fewer and fewer storms as the week goes on. A front will move across Florida and stall out nearby over the weekend. This will help usher in some drier air and potentially slightly lower humidity by Sunday and Monday. Stay tuned on that one.
