South Florida, seemingly, is stuck on chill.
A week after Miami and Fort Lauderdale were hit with the coldest temperatures in about two years, another cold front has cleared the area, allowing north winds to bring a dose of cool weather.
Low temperatures across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties are expected to range from the upper 50s to 60 degrees on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.
That is mild compared to the five day stretch of lows in the 40s from Jan. 8 through 12 in Fort Lauderdale. It should be noted that the temperatures forecast through Friday are near seasonable. The average low for this point in the season is 61 degrees.
Though mornings will be a bit chilly, afternoons should feel delightful with highs forecast to reach the mid-70s. Based on climatology for mid-January, that is normal for Miami-Dade and Broward.
Starting Saturday, southerly winds take hold and temperatures become warmer. Plan for highs around 80 degrees. Another cold front may start to approach South Florida on Sunday.
