‘Extremely dangerous’ heat conditions give way to showers, storms in South Florida

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Hazardous heat conditions will give way to evening showers and storms on Saturday in South Florida.

The National Weather Service issued a rare excessive heat warning ahead of “extremely dangerous heat conditions.” The peak index forecast: Temperatures in the middle 90s will feel like up to 113 degrees.

The afternoon storms will help lower temperatures. Some may include lightning, gusty winds, and heavy rain. The forecast on Sunday is similar, but temperatures next week may lower a few degrees.
