Ocean breeze pushes scattered storms onshore

Summer storms sparking overnight and in the morning lit up the skies to start your Thursday.

It was another muggy and humid start to the day with dew points in the mid-to-upper 70s, which helped spark the strong thunderstorms rolling off the Atlantic waters.

South Florida remains situated between an expansive mid-level ridge over the central United States and a developing upper level low just east of Central Florida.

Cooler air aloft remains in place across the region and could help spark more thunderstorms with cloud to cloud lightning.

As daytime heating picks up, storms look to be shifting inland towards the interior areas of South Florida. South Florida is no stranger to these storms but with the added influence of the high moisture content, the storms could spark some flooding concerns leading into the long holiday weekend.
