Flood advisory issued for Miami-Dade, Broward counties

MIAMI ā€“ A flood advisory was issued Monday afternoon for a portion of southeast Florida, including Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas is expected due to predicted excessive rainfall.

ā€œPonding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent,ā€ the National Weather Service reported.

As of 2:03 p.m., between 1 and 3 inches of rain had already fallen with an additional 1 to 3 inches of rainfall expected over the area.

The advisory is in effect until 5:15 p.m.
