PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – – A surge of moisture released from the Caribbean early Friday morning sparked an intense line of downpours across South Florida.
Heavy rain totaled 1-3″ across northern Miami-Dade and Broward County. This saturated the ground, making it easier for storms Friday afternoon to produce additional flooding.

The sun peaked through the clouds in between rounds of rain Friday morning. This is helping the atmosphere recover, potentially firing up round #2 later in the day.
Additional storms will be hit or miss, but an extra 1-3″ of rain is possible for some.
The moisture surge moves to northern Florida this weekend. Rain chances fall significantly to 20%-30%. This means the majority of the weekend will be dry.
With the lower rain chances this weekend, temperatures will be nearly 90° for highs. Combined with humidity, the heat index will soar to the upper 90s.
