Officials are targeting Monday, Sept. 18 as the day classes may possibly resume.

All university activities have been canceled, including sporting events.

The hurricane has already forced the postponement of Saturday's Miami-Florida State football game in Tallahassee.  With Irma forecast to make its way towards northern Florida on Monday and Tuesday, Florida State University canceled its classes for the entire week.

The football game has been rescheduled for Oct. 7.
