WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Former President Donald Trump was expected to watch initial election returns at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach Tuesday night, then head to an election night event at the Palm Beach Convention Center in West Palm Beach.
He voted in person in Palm Beach earlier in the day, as he so often advocates.
In remarks to campaign staffers, he struck a gentler tone, in contrast to the fiery rhetoric he closed his campaign with in front of Michigan voters.
“We want to bring everybody in. We want to be very inclusive, and we will be very inclusive,” Trump said. “We have a great country, but we have a country that’s in trouble. It’s in big trouble in many ways, and we have to straighten it out.”
Trump’s base supporters were just arriving at the Palm Beach Convention Center as of around 6 p.m.
