HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – In Broward County, more than 697,000 ballots were cast early in the 2024 presidential election, both in person and by mail.
That leaves around 300,000 people expected to visit voting precincts across the county on Tuesday.
At the Cultural Community Center polling location in Hallandale Beach, residents arrived early, with a line stretching out the door during the morning.
5 p.m. report:
As the day has progressed, voters Local 10 News’ Sanela Sabovic spoke with on their way out of the building said that the whole process took them about 10 minutes.
Many said the issues that they voted on, what is most important to them, ranged from women’s rights to immigration to the economy.
At Plantation Central Park, some sporadic rain didn’t stop voters from showing up and casting their ballots.
It wasn’t long after polls opened at 7 a.m. that a long line began to form as many voters tried to do their civic duty before heading to work.
Across Broward County, there have not been reports of long wait times.
While all precincts close at 7 p.m., as long as someone is in line by that time, they will be able to vote.
