MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Republican voters in Miami-Dade County headed to the polls Tuesday, March 19, for the Presidential Preference Primary although former President Donald Trump had already been declared the presumptive Republican nominee following the March 12 primaries in Georgia, Mississippi and Washington.

A Democratic Presidential Primary is not being held in Florida as President Joe Biden is running uncontested.

In Miami-Dade County, Surfside residents chose Charles Burkett for mayor over incumbent Shlomo Danzinger and selected four town commissioners.

South Miami residents, meanwhile, voted on a referendum to authorize leases exceeding 50 years for city property involving City Hall redevelopment.
