Crash temporarily shuts down U.S. 1 southbound connecting Monroe to Miami-Dade

Drivers wait for U.S. 1 to reopen southbound at mile marker 119 on Sunday afternoon in southern Miami-Dade County.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Southbound traffic on U.S. 1 from Monroe County to Miami-Dade County came to a halt on Sunday afternoon following a crash.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel responded to mile marker 119, south of Florida City.

An MDFR helicopter also responded.

At least one person was reportedly airlifted to a local hospital.

All lanes have since reopened.

No other details were immediately released.
