MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Downed powerlines caused a traffic nightmare Friday afternoon on the Palmetto Expressway.
The download powerlines were reported in both the westbound and eastbound lanes in Miami Gardens, but traffic was mostly affected for those heading west.
Around 1:15 p.m., traffic was backed up from Northwest 17th Avenue all the way to Douglas Road.
Some delays were seen as far as Red Road.
It’s unclear exactly what caused the powerlines to fall, however high winds were being felt across South Florida Friday.
