Taxi cab crash closes all southbound lanes of I-95 near Miami Gardens Drive

Passenger in back of taxi cab, 3 others injured

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A crash involving a taxi cab Thursday morning closed all southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Miami Gardens Drive.

Sky 10 was above I-95 near Miami Gardens Drive shortly after 8:30 a.m. as southbound traffic was at a standstill.

Rescuers could be seen removing an injured passenger from the back of the taxi cab and placing him onto a stretcher. He was then put into the back of an ambulance.

The taxi cab appeared to have crashed into the back of a truck carrying a Ring-O-Matic vacuum machine.

Traffic appeared to be getting by on the shoulder.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said four victims were taken to a hospital as a result of the crash, two with serious injuries.
