MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A Miami-Dade police officer was involved in a fatal crash early Monday in Miami-Dade County, authorities said.
The crash was reported about 5:45 a.m. at Southwest 104th Street and 97th Avenue.

Police said the other driver of a white Nissan pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene and his passenger was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition. Her identity has not been released.
A Miami-Dade police spokesman said the officer, who was off duty and in his personal vehicle at the time, was taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
His identity has also yet to be released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
