POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and the agency’s SWAT team responded to an apartment complex in Pompano Beach Tuesday, where authorities initially said one person was barricaded inside of an apartment unit. Sky 10 was above the scene at 11:15 a.m. as authorities were outside the Luzano apartments on West Atlantic Boulevard and Northwest 33rd Avenue. BSO spokesman Carey Codd later confirmed that authorities responded to a report of a disturbance at the apartment, but the subject was not inside the unit. KEY WEST, Fla. – Curfews and other restrictions are in place for Monroe County as officials try to stem a spike in COVID-19 cases. PLANTATION, Fla. – A SWAT team responded to a Broward County home on Friday night after an alleged bomb threat just east of Plantation Heritage Park. AVENTURA, Fla. – Police officers closed streets and a public park during a standoff with a man who refused to come out of an apartment on Friday afternoon in Aventura. Officers closed Founders Park at 3105 NE 190th St. They also redirected traffic on West Country Club Drive from the William Lehman Causeway to 190th Street. A SWAT team focused on a third-floor unit at Camden Aventura Apartments at 3100 NE 190 St. The man walked out of the apartment building in handcuffs about 5:25 p.m. and no one was injured, police said.

Investigators have not released details, but they suspect Clody Sylverne, a father of 3, killed his wife and mother-in law in a murder-suicide. Around 7:15 a.m., 911 received a call about shots fired at a house in the 9700 block of Northwest 83rd Street. BSO’s statement said: “The suspected murder-suicide left 3 adults dead and 3 children without parents.”Deputies went into the residence shortly after, where they found Sylverne and a woman dead. Investigators did not identify if the woman was the wife or mother-in-law. The children are being cared for by victim advocates with the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

WILTON MANORS, Fla. – A tense police scene in Wilton Manors on a busy stretch of Oakland Park Boulevard, which is now shut down, had SWAT spending most of the late afternoon trying to coax of woman out of law offices on the second floor of a strip mall. This all coming to an end about 6 p.m. when SWAT entered the offices. They saw and heard a flash and a bang and that was then they broke a window to get inside. Police told Local 10 that they got a call from a family member on Wednesday who told them there was someone suicidal inside the law office. Drivers are urged to avoid the area on Oakland Park Boulevard, just east of Andrews Avenue as the investigation continues and the road is shut down.

Officers responded to a home on Northwest 171st Street, near Northwest Miami Court, just after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Sometime during the family dispute, one man took out a gun, Miami-Dade police said. A SWAT team responded and attempted to negotiate with the man for more than six hours. “The special response team and the hostage negotiators pleaded with the subject for several hours to remove himself from the residence, but he refused to do so, at which point, the special response team entered the residence,” Det. No officers were hurt in the exchange of gunfire.

It happened on Lauderdale Manors Drive, where investigators say the victim confronted the suspect about missing DJ equipment. They say the suspect pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot the victim in the head. The suspect, 46-year-old Charles Roberts, remained inside the home, which is why the SWAT team was called. He was taken into custody without incident and faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – A man is in police custody after climbing onto the roof of a McDonald’s in Northwest Miami-Dade Wednesday morning. A McDonald’s employee tells Local 10 they noticed something wasn’t right with their electrical restaurant equipment. The restaurant’s manager went onto the roof to search for the problem. He said he saw a man who was acting unusual and tossed a hammer and other items off of the roof. Miami-Dade Fire rescue used a ladder truck to get the man to the ground.

POINCIANA, Fla. – A Florida SWAT team fatally shot a murder suspect early Monday after investigators say he pulled a gun on them after barricading himself inside a house. When the Broward Sheriff's Office burglary apprehension team got the case, it led them to the motel. After the suspect refused to come out, the SWAT team was called in and the motel was evacuated.

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - A man has been taken into custody after a woman's body was found inside a Miami Beach apartment Wednesday night. Miami Beach police Officer Ernesto Rodriguez said the SWAT team and hostage negotiators went to 7441 Carlyle Avenue after receiving a 911 call from a woman who was concerned she hadn't seen her friend since mid-October. "She attempted to knock on the door," Rodriguez said. After arranging a peaceful surrender, officers took the man into custody without further incident. Police then searched the apartment, discovering a dead woman inside.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Fort Lauderdale police announced Friday that Michael Robert Schnitzerling, 29, of Delray Beach, has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting. LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. - A man barricaded himself inside a Lauderdale Lakes warehouse Thursday afternoon, leading to a large scene involving Broward Sheriff's Office deputies, SWAT officers and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue crews. PLANTATION, Fla. – A hoax call led to a large police presence outside an apartment complex in Plantation Friday morning, authorities said.
