FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – It was a scary, smoke-filled night for part of Fort Lauderdale after flames ripped through a warehouse while people were still inside. He said in order to replace the fuel pump, the gas tank must first be removed because the fuel pump is in the gas tank, and all of the gas needs to be removed. Inside the warehouse, gas and oil made battling the blaze a challenge for firefighters. “There were reports of explosions up to several blocks away,” said Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Stephen Gollan. Video released by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue showed how they fought the blaze from the ground and from above on the roof.

WEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – The father of a 21-year-old girl who lost her life on New Year’s Eve in a tragic car crash told Local 10′s Roy Ramos that his heart used to break when he would see tragedies on the news. Tears welled up in the eyes of Andres Medina as he described what he would miss most about his 21-year-old daughter Yulia Gelats who, with her three friends, tragically lost her life in a crash early New Year’s Day. Medina said Yulia had just left a friend’s house and was in the process of dropping off three others in her blue Hyundai Elantra. The names of the three passengers killed in Yulia’s car have not been released by investigators. As for the three people in the Tahoe, the 16-year-olds were transported to Kendall Regional Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – A 19-year-old man surrendered to authorities Tuesday for his alleged role in a deadly hit-and-run crash that occurred Monday morning in Lauderhill. As Lauderhill police arrived to the scene of the crash, the driver of the green BMW was nowhere in sight. It is there that the children’s mother told police the man behind the wheel was her boyfriend, identified as 19-year-old Decarius Richards, who turned himself in on Tuesday. He now faces a number of charges that include child neglect and leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death. Richards' mother, Tawanna Bruton, who is the grandmother of the injured children who were inside the car, also appeared in court Wednesday before being released.

Surveillance video from outside the victims southwest Miami-Dade home captured the terrifying moments the homeowner pulled into his driveway before he was robbed at gunpoint. At that moment, what was running through my mind was, Dont get killed, the victim, identified only as Michael, said. He got out of the car and pulled the gun to my face and told me to give him my watch, Michael said. Miami-Dade police gathered evidence from the home as they now work to track down the crooks before they strike again.

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. The search is on for a thief believed to be behind a string of robberies in North Miami. On the video, he tells the clerk to open the register before walking behind the counter and taking $150 from the cash drawer. Customer Lisa Sinnet said she walked in to Splash to do laundry and saw the destruction, including an ATM riddled with bullets. The robber was not able to get through the teller machines steal case and did not get any money. Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol said Amargos, 42, was in the car with 28-year-old Litney Castro when the vehicle barreled into the flower stand where Rojo and her family were selling Valentine’s Day gifts. “He should’ve never been in that car, they should’ve never hired him and Anthony should still be alive,” attorney Adam Finkel said.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A 67-year-old man admitted to having three to four beers Tuesday before he crashed his black Dodge RAM into a gas station convenience store in Fort Lauderdale, authorities said. Fort Lauderdale police said Ligas' breath smelled of alcohol and he had red/bloodshot water eyes, slurred speech, eye lid tremors and a flushed face. According to police, the crash occurred shortly before 2:30 p.m. at the Exxon station convenience store on Northeast Fourth Avenue near Northeast 13th Street. A tow truck was used to remove the black Dodge RAM from inside the store. The store reopened late Tuesday afternoon with just a section of it closed off.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A driver was arrested Tuesday after crashing his pickup truck into a gas station in Fort Lauderdale. The crash occurred at the Exxon station convenience store on Northeast Fourth Avenue near Northeast 13th Street. A tow truck was used to remove the black Dodge RAM from the inside of the store. The impact of the crash caused shelves to be knocked over and the front of the truck was visibly damaged. Detective Tracy Figone confirmed the driver, Joseph Wayne Aligns, 67, of Fort Lauderdale, faces charges of DUI, DUI with property damage and failure to use due care.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A Boynton Beach man accused of causing a crash last month that killed a Broward Sheriff's Office deputy appeared in court Thursday, at which time he was ordered held without bond. Multiple BSO deputies were also inside the courtroom to show their support for their fallen colleague, Deputy Benjamin Nimtz. Investigators said he was behind the wheel of his Toyota Tundra when it crashed into Nimtz's marked patrol car in Deerfield Beach. As the deputy entered the intersection, Johnson ran the red light and crashed into the passenger side of Nimtz's patrol car, authorities said. Nimtz and Johnson were both taken to Broward Health North after the crash.

MIAMI - A report of a missing 3-year-old boy Wednesday turned out to be a misunderstanding between the boy's parents, authorities said. Miami-Dade police initially received reports that the child had been abducted in the 1300 block of Northeast 115th Street. Local 10 News reporter Roy Ramos had been told that the child was taken just before 4 p.m. and was last seen with a person in a red Jeep utility vehicle. Miami-Dade police officers were spotted at the child's home about an hour later speaking with the child's relatives. Police confirmed the child was safe the whole time and was never in any danger.

MIAMI - A man was fatally shot by a police officer Tuesday after stabbing a woman in Miami, police said. The incident occurred Tuesday morning during a domestic dispute at an apartment complex on Southwest 37th Avenue near Southwest Fourth Street. Miami police said the suspect was pronounced dead by medical staff at Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. A weapon has been recovered on scene," Miami Police Chief Jorge Colina said. The woman was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.
