Prichard said deputies followed the car to Stirling Road and Southwest 25th Street in Dania Beach, where there was a bailout. FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. Protesters have hit the street in Fort Lauderdale on Monday afternoon. Organized by the Black Lives Matter Alliance of Broward, the group gathered near Holiday Park at the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and NE 14th Avenue. FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Crews in Fort Lauderdale began working early Monday morning after responding to a sewer main break in George English Park. It is the 11th water or sewer main break since December in the city. The break may be in a 14-inch sewer line that is connected to a nearby pumping station, according to authorities. FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A drive-by shooting caused a driver to veer off a highway and into a tree, deputies said. Around 10 p.m. on Sunday night, Broward Sheriff's Office deputies responded to an accident scene on Sunrise Boulevard and northwest 27th Avenue. According to a witness, the male driver of a classic-style Oldsmobile vehicle was shot by an unknown gunman while driving southbound on northwest 27th Avenue. The driver was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center by Broward Sheriff's Fire Rescue where he was pronounced dead, deputies said. Investigators shut down westbound lanes on Sunrise Boulevard into early Monday morning.

PLANTATION, Fla. - A South Florida man is hospitalized after being involved in two hit-and-run crashes within minutes of each other. The collisions happened at approximately 6 a.m. Sunday on Sunrise Boulevard near the entrance to the Florida Turnpike. According to Plantation police, Jose Cruz was in his vehicle, stopped at a red light, when he was rear-ended by a red Dodge Caravan. Cruz got out of his car to assess the damage when he was struck by a second vehicle, a black Honda Accord, police said. The driver of the Accord sped away and the driver of the Caravan ran away on foot, according to police.
