OCALA, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol says a motorcyclist hit a bear that was standing in the westbound lane of State Road 40 near Ocala. Troopers say the crash late Thursday night killed the man and the bear. A news release says the 42-year-old man was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he later died of his injuries. The bear was dead at the scene. The agency did not release the name of the man.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fort Lauderdale police are reporting that a man has been transported to Broward Health Medical Center after he was found shot on State Road 84. According to FLPD, they were called to 1490 State Road 84 around 10 a.m. where they found the victim, but there were no other details. Police said they are investigating what led to the shooting. DAVIE, Fla. – A 61-year-old Fort Lauderdale man was killed Tuesday morning after crashing his car along the westbound State Road 84 entrance ramp onto I-595 westbound. The Florida Highway Patrol says the man’s SUV “swerved towards the painted gore and struck a crash attenuator with its front. After impact, the vehicle overturned and came to final rest facing east on the entrance ramp to westbound I-595.”The man was pronounced dead at the scene. FHP says no other cars were involved, and it remains unclear why the man’s SUV swerved. The crash happened shortly after 5:30 a.m., and Sky 10 was over the scene as traffic was slowed as a result.

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Multiple law enforcement agencies were conducting an extensive search for two suspects in Miramar late Tuesday night. According to Florida Highway Patrol, Miami-Dade Police initiated the chase of a black Hyundai following a call in reference to the alleged robbery. The suspect, or suspects, fled, leading police on a chase from State Road 836 to the Florida Turnpike and up to I-75. Authorities apprehended the driver in Miramar and have him in custody, but a search continues for the passenger. Police have yet to say if there were any injures reported at the Shell Gas Station in Miami-Dade.

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. - A man driving State Road 25 in Broward County died after he crashed his car into a guardrail, according to Florida Highway Patrol. Authorities said the driver traveled for unknown reasons into the grass shoulder and collided with the guardrail. The front end of the vehicle hit the guardrail and the driver was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to authorities. The crash is still under investigation.
