Miami-Dade’s mayor said Sherea Green was making history as the second woman to serve as director of the Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation Department, one of the largest in the country.

An 18-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on accusations that he attacked a corrections officer outside Miami-Dade County’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
