With Sanders now the clear front-runner to become the Democratic nominee for the White House, his rivals are looking to slow his momentum. โThe lawsuit is ridiculous,โ said Juan Peรฑalosa, the executive director of the Florida Democratic Party, which was named as a defendant in the lawsuit along with Sanders, the national Democratic Party and Florida Secretary of State Laurel Lee. Peรฑalosa said the state party had unanimously voted to place Sanders on the Florida ballot.

The campaign is calling for the party to release more detail of the votes and address concerns before releasing final results. Bernie Sanders won Nevadaโs caucuses, with Joe Biden a distant second and Buttigieg in third. Buttigiegโs deputy campaign manager Hari Sevugan says in a statement that the campaignโs own data shows a โrazor thinโ margin for second place and questioned whether the โirregularities and a number of unresolved questionsโ could change the final results. The party did not respond to a message Sunday seeking comment on the letter.

There's uncertainty about how early voters would be included in later stages of the caucus process.

In 2018, Alaska explored using an online voting system but shuttered the program because of security concerns. To some experts, a study finding holes in a smartphone voting app wasn't a shock. The app also was used in the 2016 Massachusetts Democratic Convention and the 2016 Utah Republican Convention.
