SUNRISE, Fla. – An argument about a basketball game led a student's stabbing at a South Florida high school Thursday morning, police said.
Sunrise police said Piper High School senior Kimanie King, 18, stabbed the 16-year-old sophomore multiple times with a folding pocket knife at the school's gymnasium.
He suffered multiple stab wounds, the most serious to his upper chest, and was listed in stable condition.
Joseph Watson told Local 10 he was hysterical upon learning that his son had been stabbed.
Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie said no other students were involved in Thursday's stabbing and he believes the school is safe.
