MIAMI - A man was dragged out of his car at gunpoint Tuesday morning in Miami, police said. Gilbert Fried Jr., 66, was parked in front of a home on Northwest Sixth Court, waiting to pick up a friend, when two men, one of them armed with a handgun, approached his Nissan Altima and dragged him out of the car. "The guy with the pistol walked in from the street, pointed it at me and told me to get out," Fried said. Fried said throughout the ordeal, he was thinking how to keep his car and "get them out of my face." Miami police said the men got away in Fried's car.

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - It was a usual early Sunday morning at the 24-hour Flashback Diner in Broward County's Hallandale Beach until a man stormed inside begging for help. The man told the waitresses of the Flashback Diner on Federal Highway, between Southeast Second Street and Southeast Third Street, that he and his friends had been the victims of a drive-by shooting. There was blood in the driver's side of the silver Nissan Altima when Hallandale Beach Fire Rescue personnel and Hallandale Beach Police Department officers responded. According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Camacho, the shooter fired at the silver Nissan Altima, while traveling northbound on Interstate 95 in the area of Ives Dairy Road. Fire Rescue personnel took the two injured to Aventura Hospital.

Akil Oliver, 21, is accused of shooting two teenagers July 15 in southwest Miami-Dade. MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. - A 21-year-old man was arrested last week in connection with the shooting of two teenagers at Eureka Park in southwest Miami-Dade, authorities confirmed. Akil Oliver was taken into custody Thursday on charges of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm from a vehicle and aggravated child abuse. The teens were taken to a hospital in stable condition. Miami-Dade police told Local 10 News the shooting appears to have been drug related.

A Nissan Altima crashed into a pool supply store Friday in Miramar. The owner of Continental Pool Supplies, Chris Lopez, told Local 10 News that he was standing outside his business at 2825 SW 64th Ave. smoking a cigarette when he saw the car coming straight at him. Lopez said he jumped out of the way and wasn't injured. According to officers at the scene, the woman who was driving the car claimed she blacked out and her foot went down on the gas pedal. He said another vehicle crashed into the store seven years ago, and no one was injured in that incident either.
