The Riverwalk Water Trolley, which is managed by the City of Fort Lauderdale, links visitors and residents in Fort Lauderdale to some of the most popular bars and restaurants along Las Olas, and even museums and parks — all at zero cost. According to the City of Fort Lauderdale, they just restarted their service on March 12 after near a year on hiatus. The trolley has eight stops, four on each side of New River, and runs daily from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. To order a trolley, simply call 954-TROLLEY to request a pick-up. Cell phone video shows the boat fully engulfed in flames and audio of screams of terror as the the Wellcraft becomes, what Fort Lauderdale Battalion Chief Stephen Gollan, “a floating fireball." A video posted on Instagram, shot minutes before the explosion on Thursday, shows an artist singing for the cameras with models lining the boat behind him. But then, they told investigators there was an explosion, which sent black smoke billowing into the air. In addition to the two people who were seriously injured, 5 others were taken to Broward Health, but they have since been released.

On Sunday, city officials lifted the notice for the affected areas of Riverside Park and Tarpon River. And in December, six water main breaks spewed about 127 million gallons of sewage. John Tedder was catching bait in the New River on Christmas Day, unaware of how far the raw sewage contamination had spread from recent main breaks. “I couldn’t stand on my left leg, it was swollen all the way to my kneecap,” said Tedder. "They should have never pumped the water in the river because it wasn’t in the river to begin with, they should have pumped it all in trucks,” said Tedder.
