Police say one person was critically injured as a bus with more than two dozen passengers aboard rolled over on a highway in upstate New York.

Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a woman at a resort in Marathon. MARATHON, Fla. – A 22-year-old Maryland woman was found dead after she became stuck in a resort window Thursday morning in the Florida Keys. Early investigation by detectives indicated that Sydney Therriault of Beallsville, Md., was attempting to get into her room at the Pelican RV Resort & Marina by climbing through the window when she became stuck and asphyxiated. Investigators said it appeared that she didn’t have a key and was attempting to make entry to her room via the window. The Sheriff’s Office and Monroe County Fire Rescue were called to the scene at approximately 7:28 a.m. Therriault was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter.

Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies said these three paintings were stolen on Dec. 10 from a hotel in the Florida Keys. MIAMI – Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies were asking the public for help with finding three stolen paintings by BJ Royster, a marine life artist based out of Islamorada. The 10-inch by 8-inch paintings valued at $900 were stolen on Dec. 10 from a wall at the Hawk’s Cay Resort at 61 Hawks Cay Blvd., in Duck Key, deputies said. Detective Matthew O’Neill was asking anyone with information about the paintings’ whereabouts to call 305-289-2430.

Monroe County issued an emergency declaration closing the area to all tourists on March 20, but the lack of compliance prompted Monroe County Mayor Heather Carruthers to tighten measures. “And we are going to still say, ‘Come as you are!' Deputies started to screen drivers heading southbound on Friday morning at Manatee Bay Marina on U.S. 1 at Mile Marker 112.5 and at Card Sound Road, also known as State Road 905. KEY LARGO, Fla. – A Homestead man wanted for murder in Mexico was arrested Thursday morning in the Florida Keys. Edgar Delgado Munoz was stopped at the entrance gate to the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, where he was trying to enter the property without a pass so he could work, Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokesman Adam Linhardt said. Delgado Munoz, 42, had been wanted by Interpol since 2004 on a murder charge in Mexico. He was detained by deputies and turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.

KEY LARGO, Fla. – A Key Largo man was arrested Tuesday night after his pickup truck struck a car, kept going and fled from a deputy who tried to stop him, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. Terry Tromanhauser, 66, faces multiple charges, including hit-and-run, reckless driving and fleeing and eluding. Instead, the truck continued heading north before eventually turning off the highway and into the Anchorage Resort & Yacht Club. Tromanhauser tried to crawl out the passenger side of the truck but was detained. He also faces charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving causing property damage.

MARATHON, Fla. - A Florida Keys was arrested after he allegedly threatened to cut out the tongue of a teenage girl. Antonio Solis, 47, was charged with aggravated assault and battery after he was interviewed Monday by Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies. Officials say Solis was not happy with the 16-year-old girl's dating choices. Solis grabbed the girl's hair Saturday and threatened to cut her tongue with a steak knife if she refused to say whom she was dating. The Florida Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident.

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. - Deputies in the Florida Keys arrested a Virginia man Saturday following a lengthy pursuit on U.S. 1. According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, driver Eric Kincaid and passenger Diana Stokes, both from Virginia, were taken into custody. Police said they received an alert regarding a stolen red, Dodge Caravan with Virginia tags being driven around in Key Largo. Following several attempts to deflate the van's tires, Kincaid finally stopped at Mile Marker 42, more than 40 miles from where the pursuit began at Mile Marker 86. Police have charged Kincaid with two counts of fleeing and eluding, grand theft of a motor vehicle and driving on a suspended license.

The bodies were pulled from the water Sunday morning, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. Police said the plane was scheduled to take off from Florida Keys Marathon International Airport at 6 a.m. An investigation by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Federal Aviation Administration will look into when the plane actually took off and what led to it going down. Authorities have not released the identities of the two people killed in the crash.

Shannon Ewing, 42, is accused of kicking, scratching and clawing at Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies. MARATHON, Fla. - A woman was arrested Tuesday night, accused of kicking Florida Keys deputies in the groin multiple times. Linhardt said Ewing refused a deputy's commands to sit down, kicking him in the groin and stomach. Deputies eventually placed Ewing in a leg restraint, but she continued to scratch and claw at them, drawing blood, Linhardt said. Ewing continued kicking and clawing at deputies at Fishermen's Hospital, where she was medically cleared and taken to jail.

Abraham Amado Acosta, 19, was arrested on charges of possessing a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, driving with a suspended license and possession of a pill without a prescription. Linhardt said Traffic Enforcement Unit Deputy Edward Swogger discovered Acosta's driver's license had been suspended in March for failure to pay previous traffic citations and took him into custody. While searching Acosta's car, the deputy found a loaded Glock 43 handgun under the front passenger seat and one oxycodone pill in the sunglasses holder in the headliner, Linhardt said. Authorities said the gun had been reported stolen in July from a home on Summerland Key.

A Big Pine Key woman was arrested Monday morning for pawning items that she stole from a man's trailer while he was in jail, authorities said. Linhardt said the son found the trailer door open and female belongings scattered throughout the home. The son reported that his father's Gibson guitar and case, Martin guitar and case, Fender guitar and case and a Gamo air rifle were all missing. The victim listed items of value inside his trailer for detectives, which included a flat-screen TV, Milwaukee tools and a computer. Adams Kidwell was taken into custody Monday on charges of fraud, burglary and grand theft.

ISLAMORADA, Fla. - Instead of shells, visitors to a Florida Keys beach found something more dangerous Tuesday. People walking at Sea Oats Beach in Islamorada stumbled upon a military flare during their visit. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office bomb squad leader was able to safely retrieve the device and remove it from the beach. The flare will be returned to the military. Officials advise those who find similar devices to never touch or handle them, and instead call authorities to report any military-looking device or object.

KEY LARGO, Fla. – A 27-year-old man from Key Largo was arrested after taking two girls who ran away from a children's shelter to a motel in Cutler Ridge, authorities said. Ricky Atkins is charged with two counts of interference with custody, a third-degree felony. Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies said one of the girls called the Sheriff's Office on Sept. 1 and said she and another girl were taken to the motel by Atkins to be used for prostitution. She told deputies that they witnessed other crimes taking place at the motel as well. The two runaways, who were reported missing Aug. 15, were found in Sarasota County and were returned to the custody of the Florida Keys Children's Shelter.
