Miami Central Senior High School has been lauded as the best of the best in athletics: its football team won its fourth state football championship in a row and was recently crowned national champions.

Students and staff celebrated at Miami Central Senior High School Wednesday, honoring the school’s football team, as they were recognized as national champions by a high school football website.

A threat made on social media against Miami Central Senior High School is not believed to be credible, however school officials say additional police officers will be on campus Monday as a precaution. The incident comes as law enforcement agencies across the U.S. have been affected by a viral hoax threat targeting random schools.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Video posted on Instagram shows a brawl between a student and substitute teacher at Miami Central Senior High School. Miami-Dade County Public Schools spokeswoman Daisy Gonzalez-Diego said the incident involved a substitute teacher and student who was not supposed to be in that class. The video shows the student appear to charge at the substitute teacher. At one point in the video, the teacher puts the student in a headlock before they both fall to the floor. As part of their investigation, Miami-Dade schools police will be reviewing various video sources and interviewing witnesses to determine the circumstances behind this unfortunate event.
