Miami Beach Fire Rescue personnel responded to help the few who were injured. Spring breakers forced the Miami Beach Police Department to get help from other law enforcement agencies, including the Miami-Dade and Coral Gables police departments. Most of the arrests officers have made since Feb. 3 have been on the busy area of Ocean Drive, and Collins and Washington avenues, between Fifth and 16th streets. A shooting on Monday on Collins Avenue and Sixth Street left Sowe Amadu, 27, a Miami Beach resident, dead.

Miami Beach Fire Rescue Chief Jorge Linares said nine people were taken to area hospitals to be treated for carbon monoxide poisoning. Firefighters are called to a carbon monoxide leak at the Shore Club. According to a representative from the hospital, hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used to treat decompression illness, wounds, arterial gas embolism and carbon monoxide poisoning. Authorities said it appears the leak occurred in an industrial-like area of the hotel that houses pool pumps and other equipment.

A spokesperson for Miami Beach Fire Rescue said the small boat crashed around 9:30 p.m. east of South Pointe Park Pier. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews rescued a third passenger, who was seriously hurt, on the jetty. Family members identified the victims who were killed as Christopher and Elis Colgan, a married couple from Broward County. This is the same area where Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez died in 2016 in a similar boat crash.
