A man who used the app OfferUp to steal — and in one instance, rob — jewelry from unsuspecting sellers in Miami was taken into custody, police announced Monday.

Trouble was brewing inside a Miami Starbucks Thursday morning.

A man became “upset” after finding out the woman he just had a sexual encounter with was transgender, so he and another man held her at gunpoint at a Miami motel and demanded ransom from her friends and family, according to police.

Ms. Cheezious, known for its grilled cheese sandwiches, was hit again overnight Thursday. The restaurant, located at 7418 Biscayne Blvd., had previously been vandalized May 13.
