It all happened at the Walmart on University Drive and Griffin Road over a parking-space disagreement. Police said one woman had been waiting for a parking spot but when the space opened up, a silver Mercedes sped into the spot before she could pull in. At that time, when she got out of her car, she was attacked by three people from the Mercedes-Benz, according to police. Video shows the woman on the ground being attacked by the group while other shoppers try to help stop the assault.

Leone said the officer went under water and did not surface. Leone said Davie police officers responded to the scene around 7:40 p.m. and police divers retrieved Garcia from the water. The Davie Police Department extends our deepest sympathy and prayers to the family of Officer Dan Garcia and the Town of Medley Police Department for their loss, he said.

Mark Leone, a spokesman for the department, said officers found a man dead inside a car about 9 p.m. in the driveway of a home at 2700 SW 116 Ave., in the Majestic Groves community. Leone said the man was shot several times and the detectives’ investigation was ongoing Tuesday afternoon. Detectives have yet to release the identity of the shooting victim. According to the multiple listing service that real estate brokers use, the 3-bedroom home was listed for $1.08 million on Dec. 6.

A total of five schools were placed on lockdown during the investigation: Nova Blanche Forman Elementary, Nova Eisenhower Elementary, Nova Middle School, Davie Elementary School and Nova High. One of the teens is currently registered at Nova High School.

Detectives suspect they were Outlaw Motorcycle Club members. Michael Kline was beaten July 4, 2018, outside of the Road Dawgs Saloon at 13010 W. State Road 84. Kline's son also told police officers he remembers seeing several Outlaw Motorcycle Club members there, and his father had argued with one of them a few weeks earlier. Before the beating, Kline left the bar to buy cigarettes at a nearby Exxon gas station.
