Recently, all LHPPD officers had been made aware that those specific drop boxes had been subject to theft over the past year. The suspects admitted to retrieving all of the mail from just one of the drop-off boxes. A witness told deputies he chased away the man, officers later identified as Sean Shalev, who works for a cruise line. Shalev injured his arm during the chase, and officers reported he was hospitalized at the North Broward Medical Center. On Monday afternoon, Shalev was being held without bond at the Broward County main jail.

Local 10 spoke to a neighbor who said that the young father was trying to get his boat off of the floating dock behind the home and into the water. Somehow the boat lunged backward, knocking the man into the water and he sustained fatal injuries. According to FWC, Cohen fell between two running engines while trying to back off a boat from the floating dock.
