As Hurricane Milton approaches, cities like Miami and Coral Gables have declared a state of emergency to brace for the storm’s impact. Flooding concerns are especially high across the county.

The village of Palmetto Bay confirmed that a special council meeting will be held this week after officials learned that one of the companies involved in the FIU pedestrian bridge collapse was awarded the 87th Avenue bridge contract.
