South Florida residents are once again grappling with a growing problem: political sign theft.

A 40-year-old man appeared in court on Sunday accused of killing both his 2-year-old son and his 38-year-old wife at their home in Plantation. Their 3-month-old child survived.

Authorities identified the victims found dead after a suspected murder and attempted suicide at a Plantation home as a mother and her 2-year-old son; the child’s father, they said, was taken to the hospital after an apparent overdose attempt.

There was a large police presence at a home in a Plantation neighborhood Tuesday afternoon as detectives investigated the deaths of two people.

PLANTATION, Fla. – Families in one South Florida neighborhood took action on Monday because of a big alligator. It seems the 10-foot-long gator had been swimming in a lake in the Jacaranda Lakes community in Plantation for some time. Some worried families didn’t want to wait any longer and called for help. Neighbors were still reeling Saturday afternoon as Plantation Fire Crews put out hot spots after the deadly early morning house. “He lost his son and it’s a horrible tragedy and we’re all kind of shocked,” Wallack said. The fundraising page said the man who survived the fire was Ronald Peters, and that his son, Aaron, died in the fire.
