Read full article: 18-year-old woman killed in car crash on Alligator AlleyBROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – An 18-year-old woman was killed and two others were injured early Monday morning in a car crash on Alligator Alley in Broward County, authorities confirmed. According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Yanko Reyes, who is also a spokesman for the agency, a Honda Civic and a Hyundai Sonata were involved in the collision in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 near Mile Marker 42 around 2:30 a.m. The young woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the two others were airlifted to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition, Reyes said. All lanes were blocked by authorities after the crash, but the left lane reopened at 6:48 a.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Investigators said two vehicles collided near an intersection at 1080 NW 29th Terrace shortly after 11 a.m. One of the cars, a Hyundai Sonata, ended up striking a home. Three people, 2 adults and a small child, were transported to Plantation General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Fire rescue said the child was secured in a car safety seat and did not appear to have injuries, but was transported as a precaution. The house suffered minor damage, according to BSO.
