Olivier Giroud's close-range deft touch from Cesar Azpilicueta's cross was pushed into his own goal by De Gea. De Gea hadnt played in the competition since the 2018 final when Chelsea beat United. It means Frank Lampard's first season as Chelsea manager will end with a cup final.

(CNN) - If you thought the situation for Manchester United on the pitch was troubling, fans looking for consolation in the club's financial situation may want to look away now. However, it's not all bleak reading for Manchester United. Football finance expert, Kieran Maguire, who teaches as the University of Liverpool, said the findings were "significant" but not entirely "worrying" for the club the size of Manchester United. "When Sir Alex Ferguson left the club in 2013, Manchester United owed $43.9 million to other clubs. However, he does say the gap in generating income between Manchester United and rivals Manchester City and Liverpool is "narrowing."
