But Democrats slammed the proposal, calling it discriminatory against transgender girls and women. AdThe House Secondary Education & Career Development Subcommittee voted 13-4 to approve the bill, with all โnoโ votes cast by Democrats. The Florida bill has two more committee stops in the House.

Late Monday, state health officials reported that a 60-year-old Volusia County woman tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the state's total to 19. Of the 19 cases, 13 were diagnosed in Florida and five in another state, officials said.
