The Florida Bar announced on Wednesday the Florida Supreme Court suspended a Miami Beach attorney for one year effective July 4. Herber Walker III was accused of creating a conflict of interest when he accepted about $5,000 in suits and monogrammed shirts from a client. The client had been accused of driving his other client out of state to avoid first-degree murder charges. The Florida Bar also accused Walker of communicating with the client while knowing he was represented by another counsel.

The University of Florida graduate with an office near Westchester said cases related to the coronavirus pandemic continue to increase in Miami-Dade. Suriel said she has been contacted by dozens of people who are related to frontline workers who have died of the coronavirus. A wrongful death lawsuit against an entity can have higher compensation. Suriel also said cases involving frontline workers are expected to become more common and employers have a duty to keep workers safe.
