The Local 10 Day of Giving is celebrating a milestone anniversary in 2023. This November, we will mark 10 years collecting non-perishable foods for our local hunger relief organizations.

Joshua Williams, 21, was only four years old when he co-founded the nonprofit organization in Miami-Dade County. His grandmother saw how eager he was to help others when she gave him $20 and he gave the bill to a man who said he needed money to eat.

In a place known for glorious sunsets and outdoor adventures, one might not imagine some people struggle to put food on their tables.

A team of Local 10 News volunteers helped to pack disaster relief supplies on Saturday at the Global Empowerment Mission warehouse in Doral.

Ahead of Thanksgiving, the South Florida community celebrated Local 10′s ninth Day of Giving on Friday with over 11,000 pounds of food donations for a group of six nonprofit organizations that also each received $1,200 checks.

Local 10 was out and about in South Florida and spreading good cheer to those most in need with donations from our viewers and supporters.

The Local 10 Day of Giving was created to help South Florida nonprofits serve the hungry during the holidays and beyond. For seven straight years, we have helped them collect and distribute some 73,000 pounds of food.

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – For six consecutive years, the Local 10 Day of Giving has been a much-anticipated event for local nonprofits that feed the hungry and homeless. Our local food pantries and food banks are struggling to keep shelves stocked and serve as many people as possible. The chosen nonprofits will be profiled each day on Local 10 News and Local10.com beginning Nov. 16. Since 2014, the Local 10 Day of Giving has collected 72,680 pounds of food. Let’s make this Day of Giving the best one yet.
