Neris' option was worth $7,111,111, including $111,111 in escalators for games finished. He had a 2.77 ERA in 12 games prior to the trade and a 12.91 ERA in 10 appearances after. His contract included a $12 million option for 2021 with a $2 million buyout. The 35-year-old Parker was one of the few bright spots in the bullpen with a 2.81 ERA in 14 games.

Maeda retired 21 straight batters in a stretch from the first to the eighth innings and finished with 12 strikeouts. Garcia doubled to deep right off Jeremy Jeffress (1-1) to score automatic runner Christian Yelich from second base to start the 10th. Uras had three hits and Ryan Braun and Garcia added two hits apiece for the Brewers, who beat Chicago 4-3 on Friday night. Braun doubled, advanced on Casey Sadlers wild pitch and scored the go-ahead run on second baseman Jason Kipnis fielding error in the sixth.
