The chilly air behind it is starting to filter into South Florida. This trend will continue for the next few days, meaning a prolonged cold snap for us. This cold snap will actually last longer than usual across South Florida as our winds remain out of the north through Sunday morning. Mainly clear skies with strong sunshine will be enjoyed each afternoon with highs sitting in the low to mid 70s.

A boundary will move in from the Atlantic and spark a stream of showers to kick off the weekend. While there may be some sunny breaks, some places could seem like a washout with scattered light rain and drizzle. While we will still have a few showers off the Atlantic on Sunday, they will not be as widespread. After a hot week, it will feel rather cool out during any rain.

Forecast Low Temperatures Tonight (WPLG)The forecast low for Miami is 44, but upper 30s are likely in western suburbs such as Weston, Kendall and Homestead. If that weren’t enough, the cold will combine with gusty north winds, making it feel even colder. A rare wind chill advisory is in effect through 9 a.m. Wednesday, as wind chills will range from the mid-20s to the mid-30s. We know winter doesn’t stay long in South Florida, and warmer weather will return as early as Thursday.
