The Grays also built a tiny concrete room under the stairs for punishment, the warrants said.

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – A South Florida man was arrested last week after he beat his girlfriend’s 4-year-old son and injured the boy’s penis, authorities said. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies said the babysitter’s home was only 1.6 miles away from the mother’s place of work, but Shaar took 20 minutes to get there. She then called the boy’s mother, who went to her home with another woman to see the injuries for herself. The babysitter noticed bruising and a cut on the boy’s penis when he went to the bathroom at the event, the report stated. The woman again contacted the boy’s mother and they took him to Broward Health Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.

BOCA RATON, Fla. – A teacher at a Boca Raton day care is accused of breaking a 3-year-old boy's leg. According to the report, Acosta had initially reported that the boy was misbehaving and injured his leg after kicking a metal chair. Acosta said the boy “could have been injured when she accidentally fell on him.”After police reviewed the surveillance video, Acosta revealed what really happened. Later, he stood up and refused to sit down with the other students, spitting on the carpet and ignoring Acosta. Acosta admitted that she picked him up by the arms and carried him across the room, placing him face down on the carpet.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A Hialeah woman is accused of violently shaking and slapping an 11-month-old boy at a northwest Miami-Dade County day care. The witness, whom the baby’s mother told Local 10 News was another parent, told police Jimenez then put the baby back in the crib, grabbed him and slapped him on his body and face. Jimenez denied shaking or slapping the baby but said she was “patting him” on the buttocks “to soothe him.”The baby’s mother said her son has only been at the day care for two weeks. The baby’s mother said she wants to make sure Jimenez never does something like this again. “I don’t want you right here,” she told Local 10 News reporter Parker Branton when he tried to ask her about Jimenez.

GREENACRES, Fla. – A 10-month-old girl had to be revived by South Florida paramedics after she overdosed on a drug she found on a bed, authorities said. The infant girl found the drug Friday among medications while she was left unattended in a bedroom in a home where her mother and the mother’s boyfriend were also present, according to an arrest affidavit from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Paramedics revived the girl with a dose of Narcan, which is used for reversing opioid overdoses. The mother, Melissa Katz, and her boyfriend, Kaeden Walton, were arrested. Ingrid Abello, a lawyer from public defender’s office representing Walton, didn’t respond to an email inquiry Monday night.
